From Rhialto:
- Buffed the sandstorm spell. Its behavior is now very similar to dragon breath and thunderstorm. Your AIR and EARTH skills now affect its speed, breadth and duration the same as for DB/thunderstorm. The formula for damage is 5 + AIR + EARTH (DB/TH are 30 + their two elements). Sandstorm is still lore 2 for now, and has a new reagent, graveyard dirt. But on the balance it should be a very powerful option for earth mages now.
- Removed hardwired XP awards for some level 25+ mobs (most were too low, since I boosted the built-in XP awards recently)
- This raised a few low ones (e.g. DL), but unfortunately seems to have lowered a few (e.g. kirin) that should be higher, so I will investigate.
- Reduced some reagent weights
- Changed Create Food spell to create permanent food. It is now Lore 4 and takes reagents (garlic and salt). Food edible value is based on life and earth.
- I did not change anyone who already knows the spell, so you’re getting 3 extra lore points for now.
- Nerf: Changed Vampire Blade to have a % chance of draining on each hit, based on your death skill (Used to be 100%, but that would heal you up too fast — now its chance is 10% plus your death skill on each hit).
- It also now lowers your alignment substantially each time you cast it.
- Made Staff of Striking a real artifact rather than a sneaky joke, and added it to the artifacts vending machine.
- Pixie buffs: +1 dodge/level, raised poison resist to 75%
- I’m also working on a feature where they will overlap monsters when flying, as a user-configurable option.
- Pixies now overlap monsters while they’re flying. You can toggle this behavior on and off with “overlap on” or “overlap off”.
- Sandstorm fanout is back to a hardwired 5 (what it was before any of the changes.) And duration is now 10 + AIR/3. It was a hardcoded 10 before the changes, but now it goes up gradually to its max of 25 duration at AIR skill 45. For comparison, DB duration is 6 + FIRE + DEATH (max 30).
- Undid some of the vampire blade nerfing: Its chance to drain (per hit) is now 10% + DEATH * 3, so at 25 death it would be an 85% chance. It also has a reagent now (mandrake root), which now appears in piles in shops. I also lightened mandrake root’s weight significantly.
- Manually boosted the Kirin and Onryo XP awards for now (to 15k) until I can figure out why they are not getting the same boost as Dreadclaws.
