- Thanks to a good suggestion from a player, Paladins no longer bungle a certain set of spells, including cures, dispels, heals, and some odds and ends like light and bless.
- They still bungle resists and their kin (strength, regen), any sort of attack spell, summons, etc. But any spells that are basically support-cleric spells, including group heals, will not bungle.
- I fixed poisonous stings, which affects around a dozen monsters in the game. So things like scorpions and killer bees can now poison you with their attacks. None of their poison is very strong, since I don’t have a way to specify its level yet.
- If you are running (moving), autofire rate slows by 50%, and range is reduced by 2 squares.
After you stop, your autofire rate and range return to normal.- How long after depends on your race. Dark elves are fastest, then wood elves, then pixies, then everyone but giants/raks. Giants and raks are slowest to recover after they stop moving (1 second).
- Autofire timer for searching for targets is faster now.
- Firing now looks in your first quiver before trying your inventory, for selecting a missile.
- Smart heal will now have you eat your carrot if you’re blind.
- Medium healing is now no-paladin-bungle. I missed that one before.
- Fixed quest requirement for wearing wings of fae
- Removed strength damage from ranged weapons. Sorry, but pretty much everyone agreed that it was ridiculous that dwarves were better archers than wood elves.
- Broken armor/weapons now automatically unwield/unwear.
- Made several shops larger. Cave guild, vesimas, almien, VIP.
- I want expand the Monks shop but it’s a lot of work to restrict it to cloth.
- Gold DSM is now 350k base price.
- Added artifact vending machines and a VIP lounge portal to builder mode.
- To help offset the problem that virtually every change I’ve made in the past several months has benefited giants more than anyone else, giants now have built-in racial penalties for spellcasting: -2 to all elements, and -1 to all arts. Exceptions:
- Stone giants have no earth penalty
- Frost giants have no water penalty
- Fire giants have no fire penalty
- Storm giants have no evocation penalty and no air penalty
- Fixed the paladin no-bungle code.
- Fixed SDSM to be bungling. It is also AC 60 now, 10 higher than other dragon mail.
- Fixed Gold DSM not to have petri immunity
- Ki-rins and angels will attack you if they see you attacking another ki-rin or angel. I will probably expand their “guardian” roles down the road (e.g. attack you if you’re evil or attacking any other neutral/peaceful monster), and the upcoming metal dragons will likely have the same feature.
- Fixed Minath Sky to actually not have any walls, rather than just invisible ones.
- Fixed stashing cursed worn/wielded items.
- Arrows got a 15% damage nerf, since (as always) players have figured out ways to boost archer builds that I wasn’t thinking of. Probably not terribly noticeable, but we’ll keep an eye on it and tweak up/down as needed, to make sure archers aren’t the new kalidemons.
